Behind the Scenes: Hunter Original London Fashion Week Show
On February 15th, Hunter Original launched its debut collection at London Fashion Week under the new creative direction of Alasdhair Willis. From researching and sourcing new fabrics to planning and building the elaborate set design, months of dedication and hard work went into this pivotal moment in Hunter’s 158 year history.
The show took place at Ambika P3 Gallery, a vast industrial space below the University of Westminster in London. The set included a water trough-inspired catwalk, in which models strode through inches of water. A styling team of over 100 ensured that each model was given the new Hunter Original "look" which involved highlighting and accentuating their natural features, while hair was wetted and pulled back into loose ponytails.
Fusing together the brand’s spirit of exploration and adventure with its sense of tradition and heritage, the colorful Hunter Original collection was inspired by Deep Sea and Outer Space.
Pieces from the Autumn/Winter collection include metallic coats, cracked leather bags and a range of scuba-inspired products, while the accessories and knitwear incorporate the mustache design detail from the iconic Wellington boot. Also launching at the show was the new icon, the Original Tall High Heel, a reworking of the Original Tall Boot, designed to combine the practicalities of waterproof footwear with sophistication. After the show the level of excitement was elevated further, as front row guests including Jessie J, Anna Wintour and Katy B joined model of the moment Suki Waterhouse and illusionist Dynamo (who closed the show with an astonishing and magical performance!) downstairs to say hello.
The show was an exciting moment in Hunter's history. Watch the complete runway video here.
