THE HUNTER STORY
A SYMBOL OF BRITISH COUNTRY LIFE.
1856"So what if there's only four of us."
American entrepreneur Mr. Henry Lee Norris started North British Rubber Company (later to be renamed Hunter Boots, of course), with only four employees.
In World War I, we were commissioned to mass-produce our sturdy boot for the British Army. A total of 1,185,936 boots had been made for this purpose by the end of the war.
We moved to Heathall, Dumfries in order to cope with the high demand.
1977"How about a round of applause, eh?"
The Royal Family had been wearing HB for so many years; His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh awarded HB with a Royal Warrant. In 1986 Her Majesty the Queen also granted HB a Royal Warrant.
2007"If it ain't broke, don't fix it."
Continuing to make a reliable, good-enough-for-the-Army, good-enough-for-Royals boot for the masses, in 2007 we had our biggest year yet, proving no other boot compares to an authentic Hunter Boot.
