First let me say that these boots appear to be of superior quality from style to construction. I tried both size 7 and size 8 as I am between a 7.5 to 8 in shoes based on my foot measurement. I consulted the size guide to length as well as calf measurements and I wasn't sure which would be more comfortable with a substantial sock for winter, so I felt it necessary to try both. My foot was swimming in the 8, so I returned it for the 7. Trouble was, while the 8 was snug on my calf due to the rubber gusset sewn between the two zippered sides I could not zip the boot past the lower portion of my calf in the size 7 - a complete no go. I do not have wide or large calves, but apparently they're just not slim enough. I wish very much these came with a larger calf option as this is exactly the boot style I have been searching for.
This riding rain boot is the prettiest and sexiest rain boot I have ever seen and put on!!! I would purchase it again, but it is very pricy! Only giving it 4 stars because of the sizing and fitting issues. At this price range, this boot should come in half sizes. AND YES, if you are in-between like me, go down a half size. 90% of the time I am usually a 7.5 (US size), 10% of the time I can wear a 8 but usually that's in boots. Per other Hunter purchasers, I ordered a 7 (US size) in this Hunter Riding boot and the length fit perfect for both thin and thick socks. I would say this boot is very much on the narrow side. My feet are narrow to medium, and they are very snug, especially around the ankles! The calves are also extremely snug, almost very tight...hope they stretch out. Just for the record I have pretty thin legs and calves. So BEWARE if you have a more athletic or thicker build. Hope I can zip-up over my riding pants and skinny jeans, I think it going to be a struggle. Minus the very snug ankles and the crazy tight calves, the bed and foot of the boot are very comfortable to wear. Also have to let you know the boot is very tall. I am only 5'6", but I have very long legs and the boot come up very tall on me. So beware if you have shorter than average leg &/or calf length. I hope this review helped...I could not find any reviews out there on this actual boot.PS...I have only wore them for one day. Women stop me to look at them!
