Taking inspiration from the muddy fields, Hunter created the ultimate festival journey on the runway. The ripstop tent interior of the show space, complete with guy ropes, and the mud-covered runway, referenced the unmistakable landscapes of the festival fields, seen across the UK.
The front row featured some of the world’s most iconic faces alongside the UK’s brightest young stars and new, up-and-coming talents. On the front row were Stella McCartney, Anna Wintour, Francois Henri Pinault, Salma Hayek, Jennifer Saunders, Luke Evans in the Original Bomber, Ella Eyre, wearing the Original Lace-up Boot, who played at this summer’s biggest festivals, Phoebe Collings-James, singer Laurel, who wore the Original Poppy Print Parka, and model and musician Louis Simonon.
The show embarked on a festival journey, which featured the tools to survive whatever the climate throws at you. From the early highs of a sun-soaked main stage, to the after-hours downpour where adventure begins. On the runway, lightweight nylon fabrics and Hunter sneakers were introduced, alongside waterproof rubber and vinyl jackets. Guy-rope fastenings on waxed cotton outerwear referenced the show set, while colourful tent fabric wrapped classic festival footwear. Technical performance soles were fixed onto soft suede uppers and bags were crafted with welded seams to offer the definitive waterproof accessory. Colours evoked hazy summer sunsets – sun-bleached dégradés in sorbet and lilac, alongside dusty neutrals. Closing the show, ticker tape fell as the Original Clog, a new Hunter icon was launched.
Evolving the London Fashion Week livestream experience each season, Hunter worked with Periscope prior to the show to bring a new arm of immersive and interactive content, #Beaheadliner Mobile Sessions. Directly tapping into the central theme of the show, the sessions featured exclusive performances by future headline acts en route to the show. The sessions featured three UK-based acts set to be future headliners – Fear of Men, Tropics and Oscar. Listen to the acts now on our SoundCloud playlist.
